We're so excited to have found Priory Farm in Surrey! It's hard to describe what 'it' actually is (hint, it's not a normal farm) but it's a great day out, easy to get to, and fun for all ages.
We love it because... There's so much entertainment here, and kids of all ages will enjoy it. The farm itself is basically a Garden Centre with an excellent Farm Shop. BUT it also has a huge indoor cafe, (with swings, sandpit and tractors), and outdoor ice cream parlour, pirate ship play area, duck-run mini waterfall game, loads of picnic areas and wild turkeys roaming free. And that's just the free bit.
If you want more, you can pay to experience the Discovery Trail (for a fab £2.75 per walker) which is a huge activity trail built in the hills around the farm, complete with climbing frames, educational boards about animals and wildlife, a sunflower maze, mini huts for little ones to explore, climbing wall, tunnels, wells, woodland paths and more. They've done a fantastic job building all kinds of activities that were great fun for toddlers and would be perfect for older kids too.
Don't miss... The final part of the Discovery Trail - a huge lake where you can feed the THOUSANDS of fish (it's actually a bit scary) and ducks (you can buy feed at the front desk when you pay to enter) and run through the sensor-led water spray!
Good to know... We took a buggy around the trail, but it does get quite rough, hilly and muddy so be prepared for a workout! And take wellies if it's wet. You can treat yourself to an ice cream afterwards!
