A mini children's zoo with a huge park backdrop - Battersea Park Zoo is a day out with a wide range of activities.
We love it because... It's much smaller than London Zoo, so it's perfect for a few hours' entertainment. The animals aren't really the main attraction here - our children and their friends were more drawn to the HUGE sandpit, the fire engine, the multiple playgrounds and the games.
We spotted... As well as the larger zoo animals, there's indoor areas with rabbits, guinea pigs etc, so there's a mix of areas to enjoy. We also got stuck at the tractors, as well as the Gruffalo at the exit!
What's not so good... It isn't massive for the entry fee (adults £9.50, children £7.50) but kids go free under 2, so worth a visit if you have little ones. AND you can make a day of it by visiting the rest of the park while you're there - there's a few other playgrounds to explore!
Watch out for... the journey! There's not many options for parking and Battersea Park station has LOTS of steps which aren't particularly buggy friendly...
