Since our little ones starting walking, we've been able to explore new terrains - like woodlands, paddling pools and playgrounds. Our latest find is Harvington Park - a little-known but magical spot in Beckenham...
We love it because.. It's got a good mix of activities so you can spend a few hours there entertaining little ones. The northern side of the park is woods, with plenty of open areas and walking trails, as well as a safe, shallow stream that's perfect for paddling. The southern side has huge open grass areas - perfect for picnics - and a children's playground, complete with zip wire.
We spotted... Noone! It's so quiet here it's a great place for some peace and quiet and you don't have to worry about letting the kids roam free.
When to go... This spot is secluded and never seems to be busy, although there's usually some after-school traffic in the playground. It's perfect for the hot weather (when the shady woods are cool and the stream is open for paddling) too.
Top tip... It's just over the road from Kelsey Park, if you want a more conventional green space to visit afterwards.
