Just a stone's throw outside London, you'll find an exotic butterfly house that's like nothing we've ever experienced before!
We love it because... The Butterfly Jungles experience is captivating, whether you're 3 or 30! Our 15 month old was amazed by all the flying creatures and colours of the butterflies and plants - they're fluttering everywhere around you and can even land on you - while our friends had a 2 and 4-year old who were really interested in the pretty wings. Hall Place itself offers some other great attractions for kids, such as Owl experiences and Pony rides too.
When to go... The butterfly house is part of the Hall House estate - a huge stately home (separate entry tickets) with beautiful gardens and a river running through it. You can visit the gardens for free (and picnic anywhere amongst the impressive shaped topiary) so it's great for a summer day out, while the butterfly house is an indoor hot house, so it's great for wetter days too.
Top tip... There's a lovely cafe on site with good value kids meals. You can also buy duck food at the main house to feed the (many!) ducks and geese travelling along the pretty river.
What's not so good... The butterfly house itself is pretty small, so you can't take buggies in, and it was over quite quickly! And the entry fee is per person (£4 adults, £3 children, £0 for non-walkers) so it's probably worth going with older toddlers who'll appreciate it more to make the most of the cost!
