Missing your nights out since you started a family? Now you can relive your raving days AND get a fun work out with Clubbercise exercise classes.
We love it because... It's in the dark! Why aren't all exercise classes in the dark?! Apart from setting the 'clubbing' atmosphere, it really helps you to feel less self conscious - and singing along is encouraged! Plus, it did feel really fun to be (kind of) dancing! Clubbercise is the perfect exercise for the 90s generation. Like many exercise classes, you can take it at your own pace. If you put maximum effort into each move, you'll definitely work up a sweat.
We spotted... Loads of women (and men!) dancing with glow-sticks to a mix of 90s and more recent clubbing tunes. The high-intensity periods (think Rita Ora's Hot Right Now) involve lots of fun cardio, and they're balanced with toning sections (think Black Eyed Peas 'Pump It') where the squats get really tough! The sequences aren't difficult, and our instructor demonstrated and replicated the moves a few times so we could pick it up fairly easily. The class even finishes in the same way as your favourite club used to - with a slower, disco classic to cool down.
When to go... We visited Lizzie's class in Beckenham, but there are Clubbercise classes all over London.
