If, like us, you've become accustomed to an extra early start to the day, you'll love The Breakfast Club. We visited their Clapham branch in Battersea Rise, but they have more venues across Central and East London too.
We love it because... Going out for breakfast is the new night out! Since we can't leave the house after 7pm due to impending bedtimes, we're starting to make the most of breakfast and lunch OUT. The Breakfast Club has a fantastic California-style breakfast offering, including things like pancakes with bacon, avocado on toast and huevos rancheros. And strong coffee, of course! The decor is great too, with Mexican-style bright colours and the odd fluoro animal print - the perfect pick-me-up if you're struggling to wake up!
We spotted... Lots of other families with little ones at the opening (8am) making the most of the plentiful high chairs! As we left at 9:30am, there was a huge queue forming down the street, as the rest of the non-parental crowd started to wake up.
Top tip... Go early! And make a morning of it with a stroll around nearby Northcote Road, where they have a fabulous food market at weekends, or work off your breakfast with a walk around the huge Clapham Common.
