Le Chandelier is a great little place on Lordship Lane for so many occasions. Afternoon tea with your girl friends, coffee morning with your Mummy friends, brunch with the family at the weekend and now, cocktails in the evening too.
Why we love it... We're spoilt for choice for cafes on Lordship Lane, but if you were to sample them all (believe me, we have!) and award a top spot for cakes, this would be up there. As well as delicious cakes and tarts, the selection of fresh tea is incredible, making it the perfect location for vital maternity leave catch ups.
When to go... Visiting Le Chandelier during the week for a morning coffee or afternoon tea is perfect, as it's a relaxed and quiet hideaway. You can also book out a larger table if you have something to celebrate - the beautiful tiers of afternoon tea would be perfect. If you go at the weekend for brunch however, it can be busy and there's not loads of space for prams. Phone in advance though (letting them know you'll have a pram) and the welcoming team will be accommodating.
What's not so good... The main loos are downstairs with no dedicated baby changing facilities. There is lots of room though, so it's easy to change on the floor albeit, not ideal for comfort and hygiene. There is also a disabled toilet upstairs, but again, no dedicated baby change in there either.
